Custom domains

Custom domains are available to Pro and Enterprise members. If you are on a Lite or PAYG plan, you would need to upgrade before a custom domain can be set up.

What is a custom domain?

A custom domain allows your Photohawk gallery to use your own branded web address instead of a standard Photohawk URL.

For example:

  • Standard URL: yourgallery.photohawk.com

  • Custom domain: photos.yourbrand.com

What do I need before I can set one up?

Before we can connect a custom domain, you must:

  1. Be on a Pro or Enterprise plan

  2. Already own your domain name

Your domain name must be purchased separately through a domain provider such as:

  • GoDaddy

  • IONOS

  • 1&1

  • Cloudflare

  • or another domain registrar

How do I set up a custom domain?

Once you already own your domain, you can set up your custom domain directly within your Photohawk account.

  1. Log in to your Photohawk account

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select Custom Domain

  4. Enter the custom domain or subdomain you would like to use

  5. Click Add domain

  6. Follow the DNS instructions shown on screen to update the required record with your domain provider

You can add up to 3 custom domains, with each domain requiring one DNS record.

Once the required DNS record has been added with your domain provider, Photohawk will be able to use your custom domain for your storefront and galleries.

Important to know

  • We cannot provide the domain name itself

  • You must purchase and own the domain first

  • Setup is only available on Pro and Enterprise plans
