1. Browse by Collection

If your photos are split into collections, enabling this allows visitors to browse your gallery by those collections.

How it works

Customers will see your collection names when browsing the gallery.
They can select a collection to view only the photos within it.

If you would like this enabled, toggle Browse by Collection on and input Collection Label and choose View Mode.

Collection Label

Change the name that appears to customers. For example, you could rename "Collection" to "Race Waves", "Stages" or "Categories" to better suit your event.

View mode: Dropdown or Grid

Choose how your collections are displayed to customers:

Dropdown – displays collections within a space-saving dropdown list.
Grid – displays your collections in a grid. When this is selected, you'll also have the option to choose a listing image for each collection.

2. Search by Selfie

Enable facial recognition to allow visitors to upload or take a selfie to find themselves within your gallery.

This is particularly useful for running, cycling, school and large group events, and we recommend this search option for most galleries.

Settings

Match Threshold

The Match Threshold controls how closely a face must match the faces identified within your photos.

We recommend:

80% for adults
90% for children under 12, as facial features can change more rapidly

When Search by Selfie is enabled, customers will see options to Find my photos and Add a selfie within the gallery.

3. Search by Timestamp

Search by Timestamp allows visitors to find photos based on the time they were taken, using the timestamp recorded by the camera's internal clock.

Useful for:

Events with grouped start times
Sports where participants know their approximate finish or course time
Multi-wave races

Toggle Search by Timestamp on or off depending on whether time-based searching is useful for your event.

4. Search by text/number

This allows visitors to search for their photos using text-based identifiers detected within your images, such as:

Bib numbers for running events
Vehicle numbers or other identifiers for motorsport events

Toggle this option on or off depending on the type of event and how you would like customers to search for their photos.

These options can be used individually or together depending on your event, helping customers find the photos most relevant to them more easily.

Sorting Options - Photo Order

You can sort your gallery by:

• Camera time - Photos are arranged according to the timestamp recorded by your camera when the image was taken.

• File name - Photos are sorted alphabetically based on the filename.

• Upload time - Photos appear in the order they were uploaded to Photohawk.

Sort Direction

For each sorting option, you can choose:

Ascending (A → Z, 0 → 9, oldest → newest)
Descending (Z → A, 9 → 0, newest → oldest)

Choose the direction that best suits how customers will browse the gallery.

Saving Your Changes

Once you’ve chosen your sorting preferences, scroll down and click Save Settings for the changes to take effect.
