Step 1: Enable Subscriber Collection
Before accepting pre-orders, you’ll need to enable subscriber collection:
Go to your Gallery Settings - General
Toggle “Collect Subscribers” to "Yes, Allow visitors to subscribe for updates"
This ensures customers can enter their details and access pre-order options.
Step 2: Enable Pre-Ordering
To turn on pre-orders:
Go to Products - Select Product List - Edit Product List
Select your Digital Download product (or relevant product)
Toggle on Enable “Pre-ordering” on the left hand side
Step 3: Set Your Pricing
We always recommend volume pricing when setting up product list. You must set two types of pricing:
Pre-order price (discounted)
Post-event price (standard)
Important:
Both fields must have a value entered
You can create multiple pre-order tiers (e.g. 1 photos, 5 photos, 50)
Or keep it simple with one pre-order option
Tip: Many photographers offer their largest bundle at the biggest discount to encourage higher-value purchases upfront. See example below.
Step 4: Share Your Gallery Link
Once set up, customers can:
Visit your gallery link
Subscribe
Purchase their pre-order package
No need to wait for photos to be uploaded — everything is handled in advance.
Why Use Pre-Orders?
Pre-orders help you:
Generate revenue before editing/uploading
Predict demand
Reward early customers with better pricing
Reduce post-event sales pressure
