Filtering

Filtering settings allow you to control how visitors search for and navigate through photos inside your gallery. These tools help customers find their images quickly, whether by collection, selfie, time, or number/text search.

Updated over 4 months ago

All filtering options can be found inside your gallery under:

Gallery → Settings → Filtering

This guide explains what each filter does and how to configure it.

1. Browse by Collection

If your photos are split into collections, enabling this allows visitors to filter the gallery by those collections on the front end.

How it works

  • Customers will see a list/grid of collection names when browsing.

  • They can click into a collection to view only the photos inside it.

If you would like this to be enabled, toggle it on and click settings under Browse by collection to access:

• Collection alias

Change the name that appears to customers. For example, you can rename "Collection" to "Race Waves", "Stages", or "Categories".

• View mode: Dropdown or Grid

Decide how the collections display:

  • Dropdown – space-saving list

  • Grid – Once this is toggled on, you will be prompted to choose an (optional) listing image.

2. Search by Selfie

Enable facial recognition so visitors can upload or take a selfie to find themselves in your gallery. This is especially helpful for running, cycling, school, or large group events and recommend most our members use this filtering option.

Settings

  • Match Threshold

    • Controls how closely the system matches faces to photos. We Recommended:

      • 80% for adults

      • 90% for children under 12 (as facial features change more rapidly)

If enabled, a “Find my photos” and "add a selfie" option will appear on the gallery.

3. Search by Timestamp

Allows visitors to filter photos by the time they were taken. If you would like our system to use the timestamp from the camera’s internal clock.

Useful for:

  • Events with grouped start times

  • Sports where participants know their approximate finish time

  • Multi-wave races

Toggle on/off depending on whether time filtering is useful for your event.

4. Search by Number (or Text)

This enables visitors to search using text-based identifiers, such as:

  • Bib numbers (running)

  • Vehicle plates (motorsport)

Toggle this on/off to suit your event type.
