With Photohawk, you can upload video footage from throughout an event and use our AI technology to help identify and tag participants within the footage, making it easier for customers to find video content featuring them.
What video file types can I upload?
Before uploading your video footage, make sure your files are in one of the supported video formats:
MP4 (.mp4)
MOV (.mov)
Video files must be in MP4 or MOV format before they can be uploaded to Photohawk.
If your footage is currently saved in a different format, you’ll need to convert or export it as an MP4 or MOV file before uploading.
Uploading your video footage
You can upload video footage to your gallery alongside your event photos.
How you choose to film and upload your event is completely up to you. You could upload:
One longer video covering a larger section of the event
Multiple shorter video files
Footage captured from several different locations around the event or course
For example, at a running or triathlon event, you might capture video at the start line, finish line and different points around the course, giving participants the opportunity to find footage from multiple stages of their event.
You can upload one continuous video file or split your footage into several smaller files. Photohawk will process and tag the footage either way, so you can choose the workflow that works best for you and your event.
How does AI video tagging work?
Once your video has been successfully uploaded, Photohawk needs some time to process and analyse the footage.
Our AI scans the uploaded video and tags participants within the footage. This allows relevant video content to be matched with participant searches.
Because this processing happens after the footage has been uploaded, your videos won't necessarily appear in customer search results immediately after upload.
How long does video processing take?
As a general guide, AI video processing typically takes around:
15 minutes for every hour of video footage.
For example:
1 hour of footage — approximately 15 minutes
2 hours of footage — approximately 30 minutes
4 hours of footage — approximately 1 hour
These are typical processing times rather than guaranteed times and may vary.
When will customers see their videos?
Once your video has finished uploading and the AI processing and tagging has completed, relevant videos can appear within participant search results.
This means customers can find video content featuring them alongside the photos from their event.
If you've uploaded videos from several locations around the course, participants may be matched with relevant video content from different stages of their event.
How do I sell videos?
Uploading and processing your footage is only part of the setup.
To allow customers to purchase video content, make sure the Product List applied to your gallery includes a video product.
You can then set the appropriate pricing for your video product.
If your video has uploaded and processed successfully but video isn't included within the gallery's Product List, customers won't be able to purchase it.
More information on how to set up your Product List can be found here.
My video has uploaded but isn't appearing in search
If you've uploaded your video but it isn't appearing as expected, check that:
The video upload has completed successfully.
Enough time has passed for the AI processing and tagging to complete.
The video has been uploaded to the correct gallery.
The correct Product List is applied to the gallery.
Video is included as an available product within that Product List.
If you've checked the above and your videos still aren't appearing correctly, please contact support@photohawk.com and include the gallery name and relevant video filename(s) so our team can take a closer look.
